JP Morgan Chase and Taxpayer Bailouts
What do you think should happen when major multinational billion-dollar corporations misuse money the taxpayers paid to bail them out? This is business-as-usual here in America, but most other countries in the world would let a failed company fail. After all, that is one of the core tenets of capitalism. Is the U.S. slipping into socialism? Or maybe something else entirely: corporatism, fascism? I’d like to hear how both the American populace and the international community feel about American government intervention in private companies.
Is it necessary to save American jobs? Is it necessary to prevent global economic collapse? Or is it in fact a hindrance to emerging global capitalism? Please share your comments and thoughts below. And for all our readers outside America, please let us know how your government would react to a similar situation vs. America’s handouts.
